Clinical Research ScientistMeghana Malur, PhD


Dr. Malur joined Celling Biosciences in 2016. She directs clinical studies and contributes to the research and development of products to further expand the varied portfolio of the company. Dr. Malur earned her B.E. in Chemical Engineering from India, her M.S. in Microbial Engineering from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities and her Ph.D. in Microbiology from the University of Texas at Austin, where she studied host immune responses to Influenza A virus infections.

Prior to joining Celling Biosciences, she worked as a Post-Doctoral Fellow at the Institute of Cell and Molecular Biology at the University of Texas at Austin, studying the interaction between RNA helicases and viral proteins and their effect on viral RNA synthesis. Through the years, she has acquired wide-ranging knowledge in cell and molecular biology, molecular genetics, biochemistry and microbiology. She has authored three peer-reviewed publications and is co-inventor on one patent that describes a compound for protection and treatment against Influenza virus infection.

Meghana and her wonderful husband are devoted parents to their two young children. She enjoys yoga, dance and exploring Austin’s vegetarian food scene.
